Mobility electronics search — questions
- Is mobility electronics really a distinct search practice from automotive electronics?
- Yes, and increasingly so. Automotive electronics historically meant the ECU base — engine control, transmission control, body control. Mobility electronics means the compute layer that runs the vehicle as a software platform: the central SoC that hosts perception, the AI cockpit compute that runs the infotainment and in-cabin experience, the LiDAR and radar silicon that senses the world, and the power electronics that manages the high-voltage bus. The same silicon layer is now shared across automotive, aerospace (AAM avionics), drones (autonomy compute), and the entire startup autonomy layer. Search leadership is therefore drawn from a broader pool than the traditional automotive electronics practice.
- Where does the AI cockpit fit?
- It is the fastest-moving product surface in the vehicle. The generative-AI copilot in the cabin, the multi-display cockpit, the in-cabin monitoring system, the voice interface, the audio experience, and the personalization layer are now competitive product differentiators — CES in Las Vegas in January 2027 will be the show where the AI cockpit becomes the mainstream OEM narrative.
